Good Faith Estimate for Therapy Costs

Starting therapy often comes with questions about cost—and you deserve clear, upfront information.

At Unity Counseling, we’re committed to transparency. A Good Faith Estimate is one way we help you understand what to expect financially before you begin.

What Is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a document that outlines the expected cost of your therapy services if you are not using insurance.

This helps you:

  • understand your potential costs ahead of time
  • avoid unexpected bills
  • make informed decisions about your care

Under federal law, providers are required to give this estimate to clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance.

What’s Included in Your Estimate

Your Good Faith Estimate will include:

  • the cost of your sessions
  • the expected frequency of care
  • an estimate of total costs over time

Because therapy is personalized, this estimate is based on what we know at the beginning of your care and may change as your needs evolve.

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act

You have the right to:

  • Receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your first session
  • Ask for an estimate at any time before scheduling
  • Dispute a bill if it is $400 or more above your estimate

We recommend keeping a copy of your estimate for your records.
