Medication Management That's Collaborative, Clear, and Centered Around You

Supportive, personalized care from our licensed provider—available in-person and online.

Medication management is now available at Unity Counseling for clients across Michigan, with in-person appointments in Muskegon and virtual options statewide, including Grand Rapids and Alpena.

Whether you’re just starting to explore medication or looking to transition your care, we’re here to help you take the next step in a way that feels comfortable, supportive, and stress-free.

What is Medication Management?

Medication management is a supportive, collaborative service where you meet with a licensed prescriber to talk through your experiences, goals, and whether medication may be a helpful part of your care. Appointments often include checking in on how you’re feeling, reviewing benefits and side effects, answering questions, and making adjustments as needed.

This isn’t one-size-fits-all care—it’s a thoughtful, outpatient approach designed to help you feel more balanced, more supported, and more like yourself. For many people, medication is just one part of a broader plan that may also include therapy, lifestyle changes, and building new skills.

What to Expect

A supportive, step-by-step process designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and in control of your care.

Initial Intake Call

You’ll begin with a quick call with our intake team, where we’ll learn more about what you’re looking for, go over insurance and availability, answer questions, and help you complete a brief questionnaire. From there, we’ll get you scheduled for your first appointment.

A Personalized Plan

If medication is part of your care, your provider will walk you through options in a clear, collaborative way—so you can make informed decisions that feel right for you.

Ongoing Support

Follow-up appointments focus on how you’re feeling, what’s working, and what may need to be adjusted. Your care evolves with you—nothing is set in stone.

A Collaborative Approach

Medication is just one piece of the puzzle. We often work alongside your therapist or help connect you with one to support a well-rounded approach to care.

Who is Medication Management For?

Medication management may be a good fit if you:

  • Have been feeling stuck with ongoing stress, low mood, changes in energy, focus or attention challenges, or sleep concerns

  • Are curious whether medication could help you feel more balanced and make daily life feel more manageable

  • Want support continuing, adjusting, or exploring medications as part of your mental health care

  • Are looking to transfer care from another prescriber to a Unity Counseling provider

  • Prefer a personalized care plan that may include therapy—either at Unity or with another provider

Our Approach

At Unity Counseling, medication management is never one-size-fits-all. We take a personalized, collaborative approach—getting to know you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms.

Our licensed providers focus on open communication, thoughtful care, and creating a space where you feel comfortable asking questions and being honest about your experience. You’re part of the process every step of the way, with decisions made together—not for you.

We often integrate medication management with therapy, whether that’s with a Unity clinician or another provider, to support a more well-rounded approach to mental health care. Our goal is to help you feel supported, informed, and confident in your care plan.

We offer both. Medication management appointments are available in person at our Muskegon office and virtually for clients across Michigan, including Grand Rapids and Alpena.
