Patty Wagenhofer has dedicated her entire career assisting others along the path of mental wellness. Originally from Iowa, Patty moved to Michigan in the early 80’s to begin her career in the social work field focused on counseling, coaching, and helping to build a framework of success for those wishing to break free of addictions, stigma and past traumas. Having recently relocated to the Grand Rapids area from southeast Michigan with her wife, she is excited to begin another chapter in her journey as a clinician. “I love empowering others and supporting them in creating hope and realizing their dreams.” As an LGBTQ+ member of the community and survivor of past trauma herself, Patty’s sensitivity to gender related issues along with a deep-rooted personal understanding positions her as a powerful mental health partner to her clients, specializing in grief, substance related issues as well as severe depression and anxiety.
Patty has her BA in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa and her master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. Her practice focuses on adolescents, adults, and couples of all walks of life. She sees herself as a partner in the therapeutic process and believes that no two paths to wellness are the same.
Patty lives in the Rockford Michigan with her wife. She loves biking, especially with all the trails, kayaking, yoga, gardening, and of course spending time with her 3 children who are now all adults and moving forward in their lives.
